Efek Konsumsi Harian Katekin pada Profil Lipid Individu dengan Berat Badan Lebih dan Obesitas: Literature Review

Obesitas merupakan salah satu sindrom metabolik yang dapat menyebabkan berbagai komplikasi metabolik lainnya, termasuk penyakit kardiovaskular. Peningkatan prevalensi obesitas di Indonesia perlu menjadi perhatian khusus untuk segera ditangani. Salah satu penanganan yang dapat dilakukan adalah dengan konsumsi antioksidan seperti katekin. Dalam artikel ini dilakukan telaah dari jurnal yang diterbitkan 10 tahun terakhir untuk melihat efek dari katekin terhadap profil lipid dengan pada individu dengan berat badan lebih dan obesitas. Ditemukan bahwa efek katekin sangat bergantung pada dosis pemberian dan waktu intervensi dalam mempengaruhi komposisi tubuh dan profil lipid.
