Abstract

Sistem imun adalah mekanisme pertahanan biologis yang kompleks, terdiri dari imunitas bawaan dan adaptif, yang melindungi tubuh dari berbagai patogen. Keseimbangan antara kedua sistem ini penting untuk efektivitas respons imun. Berbagai faktor dapat mempengaruhi kinerja sistem imun, termasuk nutrisi, aktivitas fisik, dan penggunaan suplemen. Salah satu bahan alami yang semakin banyak diteliti karena potensinya dalam mendukung fungsi sistem imun adalah jintan hitam (Nigella sativa) atau habbatussauda. Habbatussauda mengandung senyawa bioaktif seperti thymoquinone, nigellone, dan beta-sitosterol yang memiliki aktivitas imunomodulator. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh jintan hitam terhadap sistem imun tubuh berdasarkan tinjauan dari tujuh artikel. Artikel yang termasuk ke dalam kriteria inklusi, di antaranya tersedia dalam bahasa Inggris dan terbit pada rentang waktu 10 tahun terakhir (2015-2025) pada basis data elektronik seperti PubMed-Medline dan Google Scholar. Hasil tinjauan literatur menunjukkan bahwa jintan hitam adalah obat yang aman dan efektif untuk berbagai penyakit terutama yang berhubungan dengan sistem imun tubuh. Diperlukan penelitian lebih lanjut untuk mengevaluasi efek jangka panjang konsumsi jintan hitam pada berbagai kondisi patologis.
